Emmanuel de Richoufftz

Emmanuel de Richoufftz de Manin graduated in 1972 from the Military Academy Saint Cyr. In 1978 he was part of the Bonite/Leopard Operation in Kolwezi. From 1981 to 1984 he was aide de camp of Prime Minister Pierre Mauroy (socialist government). From 1992 to 1994 he commanded the 2nd Foreign Infantry Regiment (REI) and was part of the IFOR mission in Sarajevo. In 1997 he was promoted Head of operations of the Rapid Intervention Force. He served at the IHEDN, Institut des Hautes Etudes de Défense Nationale and at the CHEM, Centre des Hautes Etudes Militaires. From 2003 to 2006, he was Military Vice-Governor of the Paris Region. After leaving the military, he joined a leading French energy group as a consultant. Emmanuel de Richoufftz also lectures at different universities throughout France and is a frequent commentator for French media.
