Faryal Leghari is a researcher in the Security & Terrorism Department at the Gulf Research Center and is also in charge of developing the GCC-Pakistan Relations Research Program. Faryal holds an MA degree in International Conflict Analysis from University of Kent at Canterbury in England. She has also done a Masters in English Literature & Language from Kinnaird College, Punjab University at Lahore, Pakistan. Her areas of interest are conflict resolution, guerrilla warfare, revolutions, terrorism and soft security issues. Areas of geographical interest include the Gulf, Northern Caucasus, China and South West Asia.
Faryal has authored a study on soft security titled, "Narcotics & Human Trafficking to the GCC States" and has also published a comprehensive edited volume on "Pakistan-Gulf Strategic Relations,” to which she contributed two chapters on counter-terrorism and soft security. She has also written several articles on security issues in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Chechnya, besides on political and economic issues that have been published in several regional newspapers.
