Support the WSN "Education for Tolerance in the Islamic World Report" !

In pursuit of our goal to improve international understanding, the Worldsecuritynetwork Foundation, based in New York City, plans to launch a new "Education for Tolerance in the Islamic World Report", aimed at enhancing education for tolerance and peace in the Islamic countries.
Defining "tolerance" as the ability to understand and accept others and live by the values of open societies, as opposed to totalitarian ones, this project will study the practice of tolerance in education, media and family. The analysis will be aimed at proposing practical means and guiding principles through which tolerance can be promoted effectively.
In the sphere of education, WSN Foundation will review educational materials for children aged 6 to 18 in selected Islamic countries and will study the perceptions and attitudes they instill in children on the issues of tolerance and understanding among different cultures and religions.
In the sphere of media, the report will study how the media in selected Islamic countries portray representatives of other races, religions and cultures.
In respect of family, we will analyze how the family environment and values affect how children perceive the world as they are growing up and the way they formulate their attitudes toward members of other societies.
The WSN Foundation will compare this analysis with experiences in the Western World, for example its record of tolerance towards Islam in the US, Germany and the UK.
The report will identify best practices in both cultures and propose "Guidelines for Teaching Tolerance" in the school systems, as well as a "Voluntary Tolerance Code" for the media and a "Tolerance Code for Parents".
