J.G.P. (Paul) Baan (1951)
A Dutch resident, Paul Baan studied civil engineering at a technical college, and graduated at the university of Groningen with a degree in economics. He worked several years as manager in the construction and housing industry. He joined Baan Company in 1981 as General Manager. As the Baan Company - an ERP-vendor - grew and expanded globally throughout 1980-1996 he took on a variety of management and board positions.
In 1996 he left Baan Company Baan to start the Vanenburg Group, an investment company. He acted as founder and Chief Executive Officer. The investments were focused on companies that were active in the 'beyond-ERP'-arena.
Four years later, after resigning from the Vanenburg Group, Paul founded the Noaber Foundation and George Avenue. The Noaber Foundation is a charity foundation and George Avenue is a social investment fund (acting as a social venturer). His main interests with both organisations are in the field of assistive technology, health and care, education, culture and community projects.
Paul is married with 11 children. The family lives in Barneveld, a small town in the Netherlands.
